Amanda Fortier
Originally from the snowy prairies of Western Canada, Amanda Fortier now focuses her time on development issues in Africa. She works in the communications department at the Open Society Initiative West Africa (OSIWA) based in Dakar, Senegal. Prior to this, Amanda did her graduate studies in media and globalization and worked as a freelance journalist around world covering social, cultural and humanitarian topics. Wherever she has lived though, Amanda still manages to get out for a ski at least a couple times a year.
