Issue No. 7 QUESTIONS

For the Questions issue we are turning our focus from the outside world and bringing it inward. Each day for 100 days we will step out into the world and meet with one person. We will ask each person we meet the same 12 questions. At the end of 100 days we hope to capture our collective voice within this interwoven web of dialog.

Day 20: Wizard

What do you do for a living?

I’m a creator. I create buildings and houses. I create spaces for ceremonies. I create music.

What do you do to feel alive?

Work with my hands; with wood; in the soil. Work with my feet – dancing, playing in the soil, playing in the sand.

A lesson you learned from your mother:

Unconditional love

A lesson you learned from your father:

Honesty

What’s the most beautiful thing you saw today?

A circle of people hugging each other

What’s one thing you wouldn’t want anyone to take away from you?

My ability to see the beauty in all things

What’s a thought you would like to never have again?

The feeling of having to lie to my child because I knew she wouldn’t understand the truth

If you could become an inanimate object what would it be?

A sculpture that brings warmth and love to a space

When do you feel most loved?

When I’m working in the garden and when I’m dancing or doing yoga with friends in community.

If your life were to end tomorrow what would be left undone?

Probably the strongest thing is saying I’m sorry to the two kids I had to leave and never knowing how they’ve turned out.

What global issue would you take on if you didn’t have to worry about how?

Being able to show and provide food and water for all person kind – what goes hand in hand is to end war and strife which is one of the biggest obstacles for achieving the first.

What’s the scariest thing that ever happened to you?

A very recent encounter of being on the operating table and having someone fish around in my brain not knowing what the outcome would be.
